Professional Experience
Ms. Vasia Tzotziou is the owner and teacher at the V. Tzotziou Language Center, where she teaches and organizes lessons for students of different ages, designing and developing educational material while monitoring student progress. Before taking this position, she worked as a private teacher and was responsible for designing educational material, creating and adapting curricula, organizing classroom activities, evaluating students, and preparing them for exams. Since 2019, she has also been involved in online teaching, adapting educational material to the needs of digital learning and helping students learn the language whenever and wherever they wish.
Voluntarily, she worked as an English teacher for refugees through Utrecht University, using the Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT) method to develop linguistic and communication skills. She also served as an event coordinator for organizing and supporting cultural activities in Hague.
In previous years, she worked as an English teacher at various schools, designing educational activities and preparing students for exams such as ECCE, ECPE, IELTS, and TOEIC.
Education
Ms. Vasia Tzotziou is a graduate of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki with a degree in English Language and Literature, as well as a Master's degree in Applied Linguistics with TESOL from the University of Sheffield. She is certified with a 120-hour TEFL seminar and holds a teaching license from Dienst Uitvoering Onderwijs. She has also attended the Delta program of Cambridge Assessment English. Additionally, she has completed 440 hours of special education seminars from the University of the Aegean.
Professional Development Programs & Certifications
As part of her professional development, she has attended the "Learning to Teach (Better)" program, "Scratch for Teachers" seminars by Delft University of Technology, and "Theatre in Language Learning" by Lewis School. She has also participated in the IATEFL YLTSIG Web Conference and the Erasmus+ program "Keep me Safe in Europe," while regularly attending online seminars from the British Council for online teaching. Furthermore, she has participated in an educational webinar from Cambridge Assessment English on writing assessment.
Extracurricular Activities
Ms. Vasia Tzotziou is involved in theatrical lessons and holds a certification in music, as well as an ECDL certification for basic Microsoft programs (Windows, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer).
Foreign Languages
She is proficient in English, French, German, and Dutch.
